Reed
is an Honor Student attending Woodward Academy in Atlanta. He looks
forward to the 2001 season with expectations toward a championship
crown. "Our team worked so hard and accomplished some amazing
feats during the 2000 season. We hope to build on last year's accomplishments".
The
2001 season will be RSR's fourth full season in the Legends Series.
The faces that have surrounded Sorenson and his success are still
the same, with victory lane in their sights.
"Racing
has been a part of me and my family for as along as I can remember.
It's always been a family affair", Reed said. Reed's father,
Brad, has been the greatest influence in his racing career.
"Dad
has been with me every step of the way in my racing career, from
Quarter Midgets to the present." Growing up, Sorenson watched
his father compete at different tracks and raced himself most weekends.
Sorenson got a rush out of revving motors, the high speeds and competition
at the tracks. It seemed only natural for him to follow in his father's
footsteps.
The
young Sorenson got his beginning in the Quarter MIdget ranks when
he was 6-years old. He was crowned Souteastern Champion 9 times
and the National Champion in 1997. He earned over 250 checkered
flags, and holds 15 track records throughout the U.S. In 1996 he
set fast time qualifying records at both the East and West National
events. Then it was on to Legends, where Sorenson has racked up
more than 66 wins.
